LAURA AMBLER is an international award winning author, published illustrator, multiply optioned (Warner Bros. and Village Road Show) and produced screenwriter, and member of the Writers Guild of America. She wrote the screenplay for The White Pony, the legendary Roger Corman’s, Concorde-New Horizon’s biggest-selling family film to date. She has also written, directed, and produced the children's videos: Horses A to Z, Airplanes A to Z, and I Love Horses.

Ms. Ambler illustrated the children’s picture books in The Tank Series: The Fish Tank, The Turtle Tank, and The Rat Tank. A Young Adult novel, Big Skye Ranch, which Ambler wrote with Mala Burt and published in 2010, won awards at the Paris and London Book Festivals, an IPPY Award and the 2010 National Indie Excellence Award for e-book fiction. The book also was a quarter-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest in 2012.

In 2011 Ambler and Burt wrote a Christmas memories book titled The Santa Diaries. They collected stories, memories, and photos from residents of the Bay Hundred area and the sale of the book benefited Christmas in St. Michaels. For the Christmas season 2012 the duo wrote a play of the same name which was produced by The Avalon Theatre in Easton, Maryland. The play was produced in Baltimore County, MD in 2013 and in Faribault, MN in 2014. In 2019 the sequel, A Christmas Wedding, premiered in Minnesota and the original play was produced in Indiana and Maine. In 2019 The Santa Diaries makes its Tennessee premier. Ms. Ambler is a member of the Dramatist Guild.

Ms. Ambler was chosen Festival Artist of the 2012 Rehoboth Beach International Film Festival held in November 2012 and her artwork displayed on posters through the community. She is also the executive vice president of East Coast Flight Services, Inc., an executive air charter company based in Easton, MD, where she concentrates on government contracting and strategic planning. MALA BURT’s first career was as a clinical social worker with national recognition as an expert working with stepfamilies. In that capacity she appeared in print and on many TV shows, including Oprah. Her fiction has been published by Doubleday (What’s Special About Our Stepfamily), and non-fiction by  Bruner/Mazel (Stepfamilies: The Step By Step Model of Brief Therapy) and The Stepfamily Association of America (Stepfamilies Stepping Ahead).

Her first novel, A Dream Across Time, won a Foreword Magazine “Book of the Year” award, as did the sequel, A Circle of Dreams.
